Yes, I know, I did a White Christmas decorating post last year. Ya know what? I will probably do one every year because it is my favorite look. What do you think? Do you also love a white Christmas or are you loving a more colorful take? (I will do plenty of colorful Christmas posts, too).

I really love the sheepskin rugs under the tree. Ikea has a wonderful option here.

Even bedrooms should have a little Christmas cheer.
If I had a real tree (here in the desert they are expensive) I would flock it like this tree. I have never done it before but someday I will.

Why not steal a few of your kids toys to use as Christmas decor? I think this is just adorable.

Adding glitter to dollar store fruit is a great vase filler.

As many of you know, I have wanted to throw a White Christmas cocktail party for a few years now: live music and the works. I wish the economy was a little better and I could do it the way that I want to, but for now I can only do it on a very small scale. Here are some of my inspirations from my pinterest board (just in case you are thinking of throwing your own amazing event).

Every party begins at the front door, does it not?

This source offers free templates to frost your own glassware. I would like to make these on very large glass cylinders, with white candles, to line the walkway to the door.

Mom mom has agreed to make a few cookie trees like these for me.

I love this. Little trees could be put on any white cake.

I can think of nothing more appropriate for a formal cocktail affair than black and white striped bow- tie pasta.

We can't forget about the drinks, after all, it is a cocktail party! I'm thinking champagne is in
order.

These glasses are so perfect. Little snowy scenes with a gold rim. I LOVE them.

You all know by now that I love both birch bark and mercury glass.

I imagine ending the evening with a group sing of classic carols. I really need to get my piano tuned.

How about one of these as a favor (with a blue door and our address, of course) in a sweet little box?
I wish I could do it just as I envision it in my head. If money were no object and all my friend's had a clear schedule in December I would in a second. As it is, I will still have a wonderful celebration with a few of these ideas incorporated. I think I would rather give a party than get anything for Christmas.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and let me know what you think of these ideas and if you have anything you think would be a great addition to my fantasy Christmas party, I would love to hear about it!

I love all of these photos! And those cookies are just gorgeous - but yes, a little time consuming :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lauren. There are just too many wonderful things to make and so little time. But I have a few amazing friends and one fabulous mom who often make the impossible, possible. Thanks again!
