Outfit of the Day: My Perfect Summer Day Dress

Every woman needs that perfect dress that takes her from work to weekend.  This one fits the bill for me in the Summer.  Here I have paired it with heels and a black straw bag but I could easily wear it with flats or sandals on the weekend.

A big thanks to Kyungmoo Ryu for the photos.

Outfit of the Day: Mint and Leopard

This look is quickly becoming one of my favorites; an easy blouse half tucked in to jeans or pants and a cute pair of heels. It is simple and comfortable, and so easy to throw together ( but without looking like you just threw something on)!  The bun is also super easy and gives the illusion of being pulled together.  With the last days of school upon us, unpredictable weather, and a raging fire nearby, it's nice to at least be able to pretend to have it all together!
I'm linking up with Coffee Beans and Bobby Pins, Face It Catalog, and, of course, Long Distance Loving this week; hop on over to catch some fantastic posts!

Outfit of the Day: Navy and Camel

Windy!! So, so windy here.  It is quite warm though, so jumpers are great--nothing can blow up but I can stay cool.  I love the look of this jumper so much because it looks like a classic blouse tucked into a nice pair of shorts.  The little collar with the tie is what sold me though.  It looks super cute with a pair of heels as well as with flats.

jumper: Forever 21
flats: Dillards
clutch: thrifted

Here is my little munchkin looking too adorable in her chevron print dress!

Thank you Kyungmoo Ryu for the photos!

Outfit of the Day and Lilacs!

Let me just tell ya:  I've been sick.  Really sick.  I am just starting to feel better and I am so grateful to Lori for taking over the posts (among other things) and doing them beautifully!
I am thrilled that my lilacs are blooming in my backyard.  We transplanted these from our front-yard and they seem to like the change of scene.  Lilacs are my very favorite flower so these are cheering me up (even though I'm still looking a bit wan).
I love the square buttons down the back of this blouse and the little collar chain detail on the front.  These little things take a plain blouse and make it a bit more special.  I also like to mix this elegant piece with my torn and old-as-mud jeans.  For me it is that perfect mix of casual and dressy that I feel comfortable in just hanging out or running around town with my family.

Outfit of the Day: How About a Little Leopard?

We have been having a little bit of warmer weather here and there, so skirts and dresses have been back on the menu.  I'm keeping it winter-esque with the fabrics- a wool skirt paired with my camel sweater that I wore with rolled jeans here.

I like the little bit of interest that the leopard print belt adds, and the navy pumps are a great neutral.  Plus  my classroom is clear across campus, across a playground full of blue chips and gravelly dirt, so comfortable, easy to walk in shoes are a must.
I love this skirt because it has pockets.  I love me some pockets in a skirt or dress.
