Loving:The Floral Skirt

If there is one thing (okay, maybe two) on my spring wish list, it is a floral pencil skirt.  I love how fresh and vibrant so many of the options are right now.  I also adore how I am seeing them paired lately; in more casual/cool combinations of t-shirts, stripes and leather.  Also, there are so many affordable options that I'm sure to find one I love for a price that won't make it impossible for me to get a few other things I have been eyeing.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!  I'm, unfortunately, having to say goodbye to a couple of dear friends tonight.  They are moving out of state.  While I am thrilled for them I have been deferring all the tears.

Fall Wish List

Well, it's here- Friday. Thank God; this week it couldn't seem to come soon enough. This weekend we are heading down to the beach; this will be the first time all summer that we've gone. This is a far cry from our usual summers, where we have always spent at least a week at the beach on vacation. In fact, I think this is the first time ever that a summer vacation went by without a single trip to the ocean. But we will fix that tomorrow. Then Sunday we are heading to the local movie theater for a showing of To Kill a Mockingbird.  I am really looking forward to this, as the Cat has never seen this movie nor has she read the book.  I love Atticus Finch. (I love Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch.  Hell, I love Gregory Peck!)
In honor of the fact that I needed a light cardigan to throw over my sleeveless dress yesterday morning as I headed over to work, I thought I'd share with you some of the items on my fall wish list.  (The word WISH is heavy in play here, as some of these pieces are way out of my price range.  But hey, that's what stores like Zara and F21 are for, right?!)

Here's my meager contribution to the monochromatic trend that seems to be popping up everywhere.  I have had the subject of this post, black and white, floating around in my head for what seems like forever, but have not had time to do anything with it.
I, for one, am glad that b&w is heading into spring on a strong note.  What's not to love with this crisp, classic color scheme?!  It doesn't ever have to be boring, either, because it is so easy to add a pop of color with accessories.
All of these items are from Dorothy Perkins, so that means they are all affordable.  I especially love that collared dress.  I am in love with peplum tops, too, and have even purchased one, but I haven't worn it yet- my torso is soooo long, and with the wrong bottoms it just looks like it is too small.  So, until I find the rest of the outfit to go with it, it sits in my closet, where I gaze it on it now and then, waiting for the perfect piece to present itself.
