On that note of positivity, how about a little Christmas party planning? I am on the hunt for good sources for birch veneer to make my own birch candles and vases as well as floral water tubes so that I might load my Christmas tree with fresh flowers! Alas, neither of these things are available at Joanne's or Michael's. I have looked online but the shipping costs are more than the items. Does anyone out there know of any sources that are reasonable?
I have always wanted to decorate a tree with crystal ornaments and fresh white roses and lilies. How fun is this red and pink color scheme, though? You just can't go wrong with fresh flowers.
These are the floral water tubes I was talking about. You just push the stem through and then you can place them in the tree. If the sources I have seen were more reasonable on shipping I would have ordered them already.
These are the candles I want to make for the simple reason that they are just too expensive to buy.
I will need strips of birch for a good price as well but the problem is the same as the water tubes.
Let me know if anyone knows where I can find these things. I can't wait for my White Christmas party! I have wanted to host one for a few years now. I think everyone needs a little cheer right now.
Like Lori I am starting off a little late on my month of thankfulness but it's really never too late and a good habit anyway.
Day 6: I am thankful for my family. Every day that they remain safe and healthy is a good day. I have more love and support than any one person deserves. If this is all I ever have or achieve, it needs to be enough. It is enough.
Loving the 30 Days of Thankfulness theme. Started it on my own FB page! It feels good to be doing something that's positive (and not election-related)! Thank you for the great idea!
ReplyDeleteLove the birch candle accessories!
I am so glad it inspired you! It is best to be positive. I will post a picture of how my own birch candles (and maybe vases) turn out! Thank you so much Lizzy. You are the best!

You may try ebay for a good source of birch bark. I bought a set of tubes for wedding centerpieces for pretty cheap a few years back. Prices vary greatly though, I bought my set for $2 and the same seller had sold an identical lot for $30 the week before.
ReplyDeleteBecky,
DeleteI was thinking the same thing; I remember that you guys had luck with ebay.
Lori
