Time for Pins

Wednesday.  Ah, Wednesday, you little temptress you.  You hold such promise- a little reminder that the weekend is almost here.  Not too long ago I didn't really care if it was the weekend or not; every day might as well have been the weekend.  But now that we are into our first full week of school, I have to say I am really looking forward to the loveliness that is Saturday.  Don't get me wrong; I think this school year is off to a pretty good start.  But I am exhausted, people!  I come home with achy feet and so much to still get done that I feel like time is just flying.  I really, really want to sleep!
Until that happens, though, I thought I'd share some of my favorite pins from this past week.  Although, let's face it, there hasn't really been much time for pinning, and really, why would I pin something that wasn't already a favorite to begin with?!

It's kind of unreal how gorgeous this is, no?! Gorgeous. Almost ridiculously so.
Yes please. I would love a piece like this for my living room. Am I the only one who finds the new pinterest set up terribly annoying?! I mean, come on! Who actually likes that red "pin it" being stamped across the front, and what is up with the way the pins have to be embedded? I really, really, really don't like it. Also, I am really, really, really tired... I hope you have a fantastic Wednesday!! Thanks to Michelle over at The Vintage Apple for hosting!

Wednesday Pinsday

Michelle over at The Vintage Apple is back today hosting her linkup Oh, How Pinteresting!  I have an eclectic mix of favorites for you this week:
stylish lil' gals
These little girlies couldn't be cuter or more stylish.
Update those colorful alphabet magnets with spray paint / DIY
Spray kids' letter magnets gold.  From pre-school to glam!  Love this.
Natural light, beautiful balance
I am really inspired by this room.
gold framed wall gallery + pink & white fretwork accents
I have a thing for bamboo.  Especially these gold bamboo frames.
an honest room
a fall must-have: suede loafers in a deep plum.
Plum loafers look like the perfect way to start fall off right.
Fall layering
I really dig little details like this zipper.
Today is the last whole day I have to spend with my two little sweeties before school starts.  I think we need to go to the park, and get ice cream and read books...pretty much everything we love squeezed into an afternoon.  I am a little emotional since my baby is starting kindergarten.  Wish me luck tomorrow!

Wednesday Pinsday

No linkup this week at The Vintage Apple but I will still share my favorite images from Pinterest with our wonderful followers.  It's funny how I can see patterns in my pins during certain weeks.  I seem to be liking color right now--but color done in a very sophisticated way.  Nothing cutesy about these images.  This is full blown summer at it's best!

I wish I could say that I will be doing something fantastic today but the truth is, I will be sitting for hours on end for a work training day.  Ugh.  Oh well.  I will be dreaming of an end-of-summer soiree that I would love to host...and on that note...
Happy Wednesday all!

Wednesday Pinsday

Wow.  well, Pinterest finally did it. They switched me over to the new set up.  I don't know about you all, but I am not a fan.  I guess I don't mind the new look so much (what, exactly, was wrong with the old one?!), but the one thing I really don't like (really, really don't like) is the way the pin embeds on the blog.  That stupid little pin it button that automatically shows up in the corner of the picture you embed is awfully annoying. Sometimes it even gets in the way of the picture.  I've noticed that a couple of times on other blogs that I've looked at through the link up in The Vintage Apple.  A couple of times it has made it so that you can't read the pin.  Annoying.  I wish they'd change it back to normal.
Now, hold on a second as I step down off of my soapbox.
Okay.  So here are some of my recent favorite pins, complete with a stupid little pin it button attached to the top left hand corner of each picture (for your convenience, of course).

Well, that's it for me. Thanks to Michelle over at The Vintage Apple for hosting!

Wednesday Pinsday

Even though we are all on summer vacation my family has been super busy: swimming lessons, basketball practice and the fact that we are building a (pretty{I hope}) storage shed in our backyard.  I am wanting to fit in a weekend away with my husband soon especially because we have recently celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary.
But today, we are off to more swimming lessons so I need to down another cup of coffee and get moving!  Hope your Wednesday is filled with inspiration and lots of coffee:)

Wednesday Pinsday: Road Trip!

The Cat and I are on a road trip with my good friend and photographer extraordinaire, Kim Trzyna.    We are heading up to Oregon and Washington, two places Alli has never been.
For today I am linking up with The Vintage Apple for "Oh, How Pinteresting" to bring you some of my favorite relevant and not so relevant pins.

Source: piccsy.com via Bentley on Pinterest
1. Love this! Especially because that was the landscape from the car windows at the beginning of out trip.
2. Love this one too. Though there will be no dead bodies, I promise.
3. Love this office!  And look- a fiddle leaf fig tree.  I'm not kidding; I love this office.
4. I think I am going to have to recreate this look this summer. Looks like I'm going to have buy a new pair of shoes.  Darn.
5. I love this mommy/daughter photo.  I'm doing a lot of loving on these pins, aren't I?!
6. I had to pin this after one of my friends posted it on facebook.  I saw it at about 10 or 11 o'clock at night and had to pull out the vanilla ice cream  and the flour.  I almost never have ice cream in my house, so I figured that must be a sign.  And the other sign was that I like bread.  And I had flour.  And it's two ingredients, people, I had to try it!  And you know what?  Not a bad bread for two ingredients!  I would definitely make this bread again, but with a better flavor ice cream than vanilla.
Hope you are all having a fantastic week!

School's Out

Aaaahhhhh, Wednesday!  I love you, you beautiful thing you.  Why?  Because this week it means that school's out.  Which means Hello, Summer!
So after I've done this (kids seem to think summer vacation is for them, when in reality it is for the teachers!), I will need quick access to one of these:

And then after that, I will try to spend my summer following this advice:

Ooh, and I plan on having mornings filled with this:
And an afternoon or two with this:

Oh, and PLENTY of this...

So, how about you? Any big plans for summer?  Oh, and as always for Wednesday Pinsday, big thanks to Michelle at The Vintage Apple!

Wednesday Pinsday

It hasn't just been windy here lately, it's been ridiculously windy.  I mean grit in your teeth, don't even think about wearing lip gloss, blustery!  I think I have been sandblasted to the point where I don't even need to exfoliate. Needless to say, now, I am sick of the wind here.  I am ready for a couple of calm days where I can wear a skirt or dress and entertain outside soon because, heaven knows, no one wants to be on my back patio right now.  It's been a pretty good week for pins, though, so I'm linking up with Michelle at The Vintage Apple
