Minor Obsession: Fisherman Sweater

Happy Wednesday, all!  This really is a very happy, happy Wednesday, thanks to Microsoft and Lexi from Glitter, Inc.  I won a Surface 2 tablet!  Well, I won a $500 gift card to Microsoft to aid in the purchase of a Surface 2 tablet.  I cannot get over the fact that I won something like this!  I am so excited.

Can this outfit be any more perfect?!  The fisherman sweater, the plaid shirt, gold arm candy, the beautiful oxblood bag...  The setting isn't so bad either!
Once again, I'm in love.
I hope you're week is going as well as mine now is!

Outfit of the Day- Miss Mary Mack

Yesterday was my baby's birthday.    I can't believe how quickly time goes by.  We did a family dinner at my parents' house, with the meal of her choice made by her Mimi.  She has always wanted a "fondant cake" as she calls it (though my nephew calls them "fon-don't" cakes since he prefers frosting).  And this year she asked for an Adventure Time cake.

The Cat was so happy when she saw this.  One of my co-teacher's daughter is an extremely talented baker, and she made this cake, complete with Gunther (the penguin), Finn and Jake (of course), and even a hidden snail on the back.  (Thanks, Christine!)

So the weather is back to being cold, and I am back to sweaters.  This is my fisherman sweater that I picked up from Marshall's (before Rebecca was able to snatch it up!).

sweater- Cynthia Rowley, Marshalls
pants- Forever 21
shoes- Dillards
purse- Kate Spade, Nordstrom Rack
bracelet- Dillards
I love the buttons down the back!

Monday, Monday...

It's Monday.  Boo.

But not really, because the weekend was pretty good, and there are these exciting changes happening to the blog (thanks to Gloria of Little White Whale Design Studio).

Here's a random recap of our weekend:

I scored a pretty fantastic Banana Republic dress for $4 (which will be perfect once spring and summer roll around).

And I finally found a fisherman sweater (at Marshall's).

available here
And I got a book called Christopher Isherwood: Lost Years- A Memoir, 1945-1951.

I am excited to read this one, as it promises to be full of lots of juicy gossip about well known writers, artists, and actors.  Yes, gossip, I know... so debasing, but it is what it is!  I don't really care about celebrity gossip nowadays, but I'm eager to eat up info about the past.  Maybe because even though these past figures were sometimes leading scandalous lives, they were often portrayed as darlings to the public?  Now with twitter and facebook and internet and reality tv, everyone's dirty laundry is aired as soon as it becomes dirty, but back then, there was such a thing as keeping up an image.

Oh, and I was told I had legs as long as January.  (Neither here nor there, but nice to hear!)

Anyway, I hope you have a fantastic week; I will leave you with a bit of advice:

And a pretty close up detail of Oscar de la Renta, spring/summer 2013, just because it is pretty:

Fisherman Sweater

Fisherman Sweater

Fisherman Sweater by desertgirls featuring printed scarves

I think a good fisherman sweater is a closet staple that every girl needs.  Who doesn't have those mornings when you want to just throw on something you know is comfy, cozy, and still chic?  A good fisherman's sweater is all that.  Pair it with skinny jeans, a classic boot, a gorgeous scarf, and just for fun- a nautical inspired ring to complete the look and you're good to go!

Day 19~ I am thankful for my Dad being such a willing Mr. Fix-It.  He is always coming over to my house and helping me with projects, such as winterizing my swamp cooler and most recently, fixing my garbage disposal.  He is truly someone I am thankful for!
