Quote of the Day: Flair vs. Taste

A dissection of good taste by the extraordinary Albert Hadley.
I love this quote because I've said the same thing in different words many times before but, if Albert Hadley said it, it's certainly the truth.
Hope your Monday is not one of those 'oh no, it's Monday,' Mondays.  Mine is crisp and pretty and productive so far.
I'm getting excited for holiday decorating and baking that is just around the corner!

A Little Thought for Today

image via
Some days it's harder than others to follow this simple advice, but it's advice worth following, nonetheless.  I hope you are having a wonderful week so far.  I am trying to focus on the positive after a few days of some crummy "events" taking place (I won't bore you with the details).  This quote is a good reminder of something that is important to all of us.

Inspiration: Romance

Emily Bronte Quote
I was inspired by Lori's post yesterday on all that gorgeous lingerie.  I know that Valentine's Day is still a month away, but I am in the mood for romance now.   Why wait? Here are some lovely romantic images to inspire your love life.

The Comforts of Home

True words for today:

This holds true for me today, as I am planning on spending most of today just lounging at home.  My brother and sister in law will be coming over to visit and maybe drink some coffee topped with a dollop of foam, thanks to one of my Christmas presents from yesterday (the Capresso frothPro).  It is lovely and I need to run to the store to get more milk so I can play with it some more.
I hope you all had a lovely holiday, and that the spirit of the season continues to warm your week.

Happy Friday; Quote of the Week

Soon the Cat and I will be in Chicago, visiting my brother and sister-in-law.  We are both super excited for our trip (minus the whole making sure you get to the airport on time, get your bags checked, etc., etc.).
The following is a great picture featuring the iconic Marshall Field's clock on State Street in 1947.  The image comes from the Chicago Daily News.

We've got big plans to visit all the touristy type places, take in lots of amazing architecture, explore as many different neighborhoods as we can, and eat our way through Chicago.  Lucky for us, we have two built in tour guides, so we are both looking forward to our visit.  And for those of you who have summer travel plans, I leave you with a little bit of sound advice...
So very, very true!

Audrey

So chic... I love everything about this picture!  Her outfit, that chair, her hair.  Gorgeous.
Here are two quotes from Ms. Hepburn that show how beautiful she was- both inside and out.

I love that quote.  Not too long ago, when Alli and I were doing the play Beauty and the Beast, my friend Heather and I were talking about this very thing.  She's one of the funniest people I know, and anytime we get to hang out, we usually both end up laughing so hard that we cry.  I love that!

How can you not love this quote and the woman who said it?  Beautiful words to try to live by!  Love it!
