What I Need: Pencil Skirt

I'm in the market for a new pencil skirt.  My go to navy one just doesn't fit me very well; it was part of a matching Ann Taylor suit.  I never wore the jacket, but that skirt has always been in heavy rotation in my work wardrobe. Now it is loose enough that I am in the market for a new one, just because the fit isn't that great anymore.  I should take it to a tailor;  I will have to put it on my to do list.  But really, I need a new one.

Pencil Skirts

J.Crew pencil skirt / J.Crew pencil skirt / J.Crew pencil skirt / Banana Republic pencil skirt

Okay. So there are three pencil skirts featured here(one of them is featured on the model and then in navy); two are from J. Crew and one is from Banana Republic. I went on their website at 10 o'clock last night to take a look at their selection and found that they were having a sale (it goes until 10 a.m. this morning, I believe). All women's clothing was 40% off with the code BRNIGHT, so I went ahead and pulled the trigger and got the navy pencil skirt featured up there in the top left hand corner. Originally I was going to ask, and I still am asking, what is your favorite brand when it comes to a good pencil skirt? J. Crew? Zara (when they have them)? Loft? Somewhere else that I am totally overlooking? This one from BR may be on its way, but I am still open to suggestions, people! Oh, and I am proud to say that I FINALLY remembered to use ebates before hitting the purchase button, so on top of my 40% off, I will be getting 2% back. I am kicking myself for not remembering to log in before I made a sizable Sephora purchase the other day (8% back, people!).  Are you an ebates user?
I hope your Monday is off to a lovely start!

Inspiration: Peter Pan Collars

What do you get when you type "Peter Pan" into etsy's search engine?  You get all kinds of adorableness, that's what.  You get Peter Pan items and you get Peter Pan collars.  Both of these are things I LOVE.

from etsy shop Coline Design
This fun Peter Pan collar boasts a pretty city design, reminiscent of a London scene, so it kind of combines both the story and the accessory into one pretty little item.  I think this collar could add a lot of fun to an outfit; it would definitely give a little bit of quirkiness to an otherwise simple sweater.

Netty's Girl Vintage
This coat is probably pretty fabulous in person- orange plaid, peter pan collar, belted, and a cape/coat combination?  Gorgeous.

Day 15~ I am thankful for Netflix.  I know, not very deep, but I love being able sit down and watch marathons with the Cat.

I have talked about Matchbook magazine before, so it is no secret that I am a little in love with their whole get up, from the magazine to the website to the tumblr site.  Love, love, love.  And I love them for introducing me to the gorgeous Attache dress from J. Crew.

A New Year's Resolution I can keep.

Audrey- no one does this look better!
I don't usually make New Year's resolutions.  Probably because I can't really stick to things very well.  I don't put much stock into New Year's resolutions.  But this year I am making one.  My resolution is to wear more cigarette pants and more capris.  I think both are classic and chic.  I searched forever to find the perfect pair of black cigarette pants a couple of years ago and finally found some at the Ann Taylor Loft outlet store.  I knew I should have bought two pairs of those pants, but instead I bought one pair and two really great coats that I still love.  So now, of course, they do not have them anymore.  And I wear those pants a lot.  So my resolution is to find some more great cigarette pants and some more great capris in  a myriad of colors, and to wear them ALL THE TIME.
